Nascar Cup Series

The NASCAR Cup Series is a stock car racing series owned and operated by NASCAR (the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing). NASCAR’s premier series had been known as the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series since Jan. 1, 2017, rebranded in 2020. It holds races over the season at tracks located in the United States both road courses and ovals. Although the roots of the series was in the use of "stock" manufacturers vehicles, todays cars are custom built automobiles powered by custom built V8 engines.

Michigan International Speedway - Cup Series Race Winners

Michigan International Speedway (MIS) is a 2 mile (3.2 km) D-shaped speedway located approximately four-miles (6.4 km) south of the village of Brooklyn Michigan. The track is used primarily for NASCAR events. It is sometimes known as a sister track to Texas World Speedway, and was used as the basis of Auto Club Speedway. The track is owned by NASCAR. Michigan International Speedway is recognized as one of motorsports' premier facilities because of its wide racing surface and high banking (by open-wheel standards; the 18-degree banking is modest by stock car standards). Michigan is the fastest track in NASCAR due to its wide, sweeping corners, long straightaways, and lack of a restrictor plate requirement after the 2012 repaving of the track.
